Fitz Farm and Poultry

Home Our Marans Our Doxies Our Aussies

We are a small farm located in the heart of Oklahoma.  Four generations live and work on this industrious little farm.

We raise a few cattle, marans poultry, Australian shepherds and miniature dachshunds.

We raise marans poultry, and we are very proud of the bloodlines that we have.  We try to always improve upon the marans standard and egg color.   Our marans include:  Black copper, blue, wheaten, and golden cuckoo.  All of our marans are of the French standard (feathered shanks).  Dave has just hatched a third generation of French Golden Cuckoo and the chicks look great!!  I have added two photos and will add more later as more hatch.  We have 8 that hatched and all are doing well.  More are scheduled to hatch in April 2010.

Our animals are raised on 80 acres of wooded and bottom land.  Each animal is an intricate part of running the farm.  We use the litter from the chickens to fertilize our garden.  This makes for an abundance of produce, from which I can my own recipe of salsa, bread and butter pickles, and kosher pickles. Also, the chickens help keep the dogs free from ticks and fleas.  Bud, our blue merle Aussie, watches over the other animals to keep them safe from predators.  Here, everyone helps each other.

We are not a kennel, but we have litters every year.  Our dogs are farm animals; they work on the farm.
